Silverdale Real Estate

Silverdale is a quaint town on the Puget Sound located in Central Kitsap, 10 miles Northwest of Bremerton and just 9 miles South of Poulsbo. With a population at 19,204 and growing, Silverdale residents enjoy exceptional features that provide an outstanding quality of living. It enjoys a relatively moderate climate situated west of the Olympic Mountains and the Hood Canal providing the perfect buffer from the stronger weather coming off the Pacific Ocean.

There is always something happening in and around Silverdale. In July you can enjoy the festivities of “Whaling Days” an annual Not-for-profit organization ran exclusively by Volunteers. Each year Whaling Days donates proceeds to our local community through charitable contributions and scholarships. Whaling Days is also a “SeaFair” Sanctioned Community Event. In August another large event called the Kitsap Fair and Rodeo takes place that gives residents and visitors the 4-H animal exhibits, arts and craft exhibits, a carnival midway and big name entertainment.

If you’re an outdoors lover the Silverdale area offers parks on the waterfront and some of the best known hiking trails around Kitsap County. You can hike to the top of Green Mountain that surprises you with some of the most spectacular panoramic views of Puget Sound, Seattle Skyline, Cascade Mountain Range and to the west the Olympic Mountain Ranges with the Hood Canal nesting below. Clear Creek Trail is yet another great outdoor recreational attraction. This easy day hike starts at Dyes Inlet near the Silverdale Beach Hotel. You’ll find yourself on a well-constructed boardwalk that takes you through wetlands where the trail is wide and easy to walk. The last portion of the trail is paved and is a great biking trail. Begin or Finish your day hike at the Clear Creek Sa’qad Interpretive Center to learn about the salmon runs, lush wildlife and more…check it out!

The heart of the community can still be found in “Old Town Silverdale”. From April to September you can find the Summer Market on the Waterfront that brings fresh produce from local farmers and arts/crafts from local artist. “Old Town” also provides charming shops and cafés, an established neighborhood as well as the park for a quiet place to stroll.

Don’t forget about shopping! Silverdale is also well known for the largest shopping center on the West Sound better known as the “Kitsap Mall” No longer having to travel to Seattle, the mall has a diverse selection of more than 100 stores, many of which are national brand stores such as Costco, Home Depot, Macy’s , Kohl’s and Sears.
